Alisha, or shortened, "Leesh," has been working on fusing her skills, experiences, and passion, to create an inspired, fulfilling life. Her personal experiences, varied educational background, intuitive sense of understanding, and desire to help people, have been culminating over the years to create the work and practices she is continually developing. Though her training and goals will always be evolving, the common thread will be to work towards the improvement of life for individuals and communities.
Born in San Diego, CA, and raised by parents with a desire to travel, the wandering spirit was passed down to her and her two sisters. With family in Montreal, Quebec, she began traveling to the French-Canadian province at 6 months old, and traveling became a part of her lifestyle; in her early twenties, guided by her inner compass, she spent extended amounts of time traveling and living in Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Chicago. She has a deep passion for experiencing new places, is often drawn to places she's never been, and wholeheartedly believes in the transformational potential to be discovered via travel experiences.
A book nerd from the beginning and eager to help people, she was on track to a medical career, when her life changed direction in her early twenties. Seeking something with more creative expression, while still being people-oriented, she changed majors to architecture, interior design, and massage therapy, before she eventually graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Sociology. The lessons and experience from each previous major made a great impact, infiltrating her way of living, and impacting her biggest dreams. After graduating, she pursued a job in venue management and events planning, which provided very dynamic, well-rounded career experience, and is helping her work towards her future plans.
In her early twenties, Alisha experienced some dramatic events that changed the way she viewed life and deepened her appreciation for living. When her boyfriend passed away in a motorcycle accident, she was confronted with how precious and fleeting life was. She found that in times of heartbreak, it was friends, family, and epic life experiences that paved the way for the healing process. Just two years later, she was reminded of the fragile nature of life when three friends and peers passed away, victims of meaningless violence. Again she found herself working through grief and the healing process, but was determined not to lose her joy for life or hope for what experiences may await.
Keeping her body and mind busy with work, a social life, and a consistent physical fitness schedule, a vital part of a balanced life seemed to be missing - the spiritual aspect. Having encountered spiritual connectedness in previous meditations, it seemed imperative to pursue meditation and energy work, and she began a year long Clairvoyant Program at the Reno Psychic Institute. Using meditation as a tool to gain awareness, the program trained and refined her ability to read energy, increased her knowledge of meditation tools, and reconnected her to a spiritual world she had always known existed. These experiences and skills enabled her to bring light to her own inner awareness, and to work towards releasing any energy that prevented her from being her most genuine self. She is now able to apply these skills to her own life, as well as utilizing them to help bring awareness to others through readings, healings, and interpretations.
With a natural understanding of the therapeutic qualities of physical activity, Alisha has integrated yoga, pilates, and cardio exercise into her usual physical practice for years. Often able to relieve stress through aerobic exercise, she found that yoga helped with her focus and releasing tensions such as anxiety and ptsd. Alisha is currently finishing her Yoga Instructor Certification through Yoga Alliance, and is looking forward to teaching. She is also developing her healing/energy work business, and aims to use her skills and experience to leave a positive impact; through writing, business consulting, volunteer efforts, energy work, and yoga instruction, she hopes to help and inspire others. She believes that life is an epic journey of discovery, transformation, and growth, and is eager to assist and encourage others on their path.
Every person's journey is unique, but it is shaped by our personal experiences and the way we connect with others. Whether you have questions about how she has financed her travels, are interested in learning more about energy work, would like to take a yoga class with her, or just want to connect about an idea, Leesh would love to hear from you and encourages you to live your life, unleeshed.
